Paul Stempko – Williamson County Democratic Chair 2010

My name is Paul Stempko, and I am running for Chair of the Williamson County Democratic Party. I decided to run for Williamson County Democratic Party Chair to take the successes we’ve achieved in the past few years to the next level.  The election of Rep. Diana Maldonado (HD 52) saw the first Democrat elected in Williamson County in over 15 years.

Now going into 2010, the most important election year for Texas in generations, we must hold onto our successes by retaining Rep. Maldonado’s seat, chart a path for gaining more ground in Williamson County and live up to our potential as a key player in statewide victories.

The WCDP has already approved a strategic plan to direct our election efforts for 2010.  As 2^nd Vice Chair for the party over the past four years, I worked closely with the committee that drafted the Strategic Plan and have a clear grasp of the intent behind it.   It’s important that the next County Chair work to ensure that those directives are executed effectively.

It all boils down to three words – Message, Money, and Structure. Everything we do must be focused on these imperatives:

1)      We need to get the Democratic message out to voters around Williamson County.  In a critical mid-term election, it’s up to us to turn out the Democratic base to ensure the election of the great candidates we will have on the ballot in November.

2)      We need to accelerate our fundraising efforts to ensure that we have the resources to get our message out to the Democratic base.

3)      We need to create a structure that supports our staff, volunteers, and candidates.

Message, Money, and Structure. These are the key elements for supporting our Democratic candidates……..and winning elections. Having worked almost non-stop on this effort since Election Day in 2008, I have a clear vision of where we need to be as a County Party on November 2, 2010 in order to win and achieve our ambitious goals.

However, I need your help and support to get there. That is why I would be honored to earn your vote in the March primary election. Together we will continue to turn Williamson County blue.
